This is a request from my users actually, and personally i would also appreciate something like this.

When bandwidth is about to be exceeded for any user, cpanel send mail notifications to the admin. Is it possible to send notifications to users instead that they are abou to exceed their bandwidth. Its not possible for all users to login inside the control panel everytime and check how much bandwidth is used etc. If the same warning send to the admin is being send to the user, it would be great.

The same hold for disk space usage. Now there is no warning if some users disk space goes full. If mails are not reaching, hes not able to upload nething else etc, then he sees inside the control panel / calls us. This is how its known that the account is out of disk space. Now same as the bandwidth can there be warnings send to the users stating that their disk space is about to be out ??

All these warnings can be send to the default email id set inside every account.

Please let me know wat others think about this ??

Anand

Good point made there.

Exceeding the disk quota also breaks the webalizer data for that month.

I just came across this today

WARNQUOTA(8) WARNQUOTA(8)

NAME
warnquota - send mail to users over quota

SYNOPSIS
warnquota

DESCRIPTION
warnquota checks the disk quota for each filesystem and mails a warning message to
those users who have reached their limit. It is typically run via cron(8).

FILES
aquota.user quota file at the filesystem root (version 2 quota, non-XFS
filesystems)
quota.user quota file at the filesystem root (version 1 quota, non-XFS
filesystems)
/etc/warnquota.conf configuration file
/etc/mtab default filesystems
/etc/passwd default set of users

Any ideas ??

Anand

I would like to have this feature, too. Anyone out there able to accomplish it? I'm a beginner, and I don't want to offend my customers by shutting down their sites without warning.
