Since we upgrade to cpanel 11 we get a lot of complaints of people who exceeded their allocated disk space. Before they were able to delete files or email using cpanel's webmail clients or file manager when they exceeded their allowed disk space. Now this only works using ftp. Not very efficient if you want to delete some large spam mails from your inbox that might lower your used disk space enough.

Also this generates a lot of extra helpdesk tickets that need to be answered and a lot of unnecessary explaining to do towards the customers.

So we sent a mail to Cpanel and got a swift reply:

    Our mail:
We upgraded all our servers to Cpanel 11 (which looks great by the way).
However, we noticed that accounts that have used all their disk space are not
able to edit files anymore. Most of the time they want to delete some spam
mails using Squirrel mail of delete some files using the file manager, but this
seems to be impossible since version 11.
Can we grant customers delete rights somehow?

    Cpanel's answer:
I believe this was done to prevent any corruption of files in case the client
tries to modify anything. I think it may be a good feature request to have the
filemanager be available in a delete-only sort of mode however. For now the
clients will need to use their FTP accounts to delete the files.
Let me know if you'd like me to open a feature request for this at
http://bugzilla.cpanel.net for you for this or some other method of your
    choosing.

I'll paste the bugzilla link here as soon as I received it. I can imagine that lot's of hosting providers are confronted with the same problem, so the above information might be useful.
