OK maybe this has been there all along and I did not know about it till a customer just ask me about it. He is getting hits now from search engines directing to his site and google has decided to add it to his cache.

Take any domain on your server and add /manual/ to it

    http://domain.com/manual/

    http://www.domain.com/manual/vhosts/details.html

You get the full apache manual I have tried this on 15 of my servers now and at least that many of others and it always works. There is no manual directory under any of these sites public_html

    What the??

    This is an alias.
    In httpd.conf, find Alias /manual/ "/usr/local/apache/htdocs/manual/"
    and comment it out like
    #Alias /manual/ "/usr/local/apache/htdocs/manual/"
Restart apache and you should be good to go.

Note there is also /icons/ but this may somehow tie in with the directory indexes.
