Hi,
I have a question about the usage of SMBIND to administate DNS zones.
SMBIND needs access to the /var/named directory as group member of the named group.
The issue now is that the default permissions for the named dir is 755.
when changing this to 775 SMBIND has access to the named files.
BUT: When CPANEL ads a DNS entry, somehow the named dir permissions are reset to the default 755.
Does anyone has already adopted SMBIND in a CPANEL enviroment ?
OR: Does anyone know if the resetting of these permissions can be stopped.
Yep, i know that WHM offers the modification of DNS entries.
BUT: I want to have a SMBIND (or alike) program that i can offer to my clients to change their DNS entries. My customers don't have access to WHM
Thanks
Robert-Jan
PS: CHIRPY maybe something to add to your (perfect) add-ons:D
