Ok, i have my servers setup on a DNS cluster.

1. Is there anyway when an account is being created for it to check the username with all other servers in the cluster and if already present return an error?, ideally the typical "ouch, already taken" one?

2. Now, im not too sure about this one, but when thinking about the above i decided to see what would happen if i created an account using a domain that already exists on another server within the cluster.

What happened was that the account was created without issues and the DNS information changed to use the new account, surely this cant be correct?

Shouldnt there be checks in place to prevent either of the above from happening?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

The DNS cluster is not "smart". It is only for DNS clustering, and not for account/file clustering.

So if server1 updates the DNS, then the change is propogated to all serves in the DNS cluster. If server2 also has an account with the same domain name, then that's just too bad -- it will be changed.
