Currently we have two WHM servers. Neither server has named running on them. We have been doing this for years. We have 4 standalone DNS servers running, NS2 NS3 NS4 and NS5.

We handled all DNS zone file with scripts and manually in the past.

We then setup one of the WHM servers with DNS Clustering. Install the Cpanel DNS standalone on NS3, NS4 and NS5 (NS2 will be retiring soon). On server 1 we set up the clustering from the WHM to all the Nameserver's and setup up all the DNS server as well. The clustering is working fine.

Now we have the second WHM server and what to get it in the game as well.

Since there is not doc on how to do DNS clustering with CPanel/WHM here is my question.

On Server 1 added Server 2 to the DNS Cluster. Then did a sync on all. None of the zone file from server 1 or any of the NSX got transferd to server 2.

So on Server 2 do I need to add all the DNS servers as well as Server 1?

If so will there be any interference with server 1 adding zone's and server 2 adding zones and getting them all synced up together.

Any special tricks that need to be done to make this work when the third server is added and more DSN servers.

Here's a direct link to the documentation for setting up DNS Clustering with cPanel/WHM:

Keep in mind, this system was designed with users running name servers locally to move the records stored locally to a remote server. I do not believe cPanel DNS-Only was designed to automatically set up records in your scenario as they were not directly integrated with cPanel/WHM.
