I have one client who transfer his domain to my server last few months. Domain name server had been change to my server DNS, however in certain time it is still pointing to the old server and causing some email to go missing.

I check this at command prompt nslookup -type=ns domain.com
this will return my nameserver and IP
however out of 10 times I checked, 2 or 3 times will show the old server nameserver and IP.

Can anybody advise how to solve this problem

Contact the previous host and check that the zone file for that domain has been deleted from their server.

Have seen this happen when a customer doesn't completely close an account with their last host.

I have send email to previous host and they insist that everything had been deleted from their server. I'm in the lost what should I do next. Is there any software that I can check where the error come from.

When I check A record using dnsstuff.com, domain.com show the new server IP correctly but ns1.domain.com show the old IP.

Since the registrar for this domain is Godaddy, I also check godaddy "Domain hosts" and very sure there are no domain host setup with godaddy.

Where does an IPWHOIS Lookup on dnsstuff of the old name server IP lead you?

Seems logical then that the old host still has undeleted zone information for the domain in question.

Thank you very much for your info, I will contact the host once again to ask them to check the zone file.
