DNS Issue After Adding Certificate

Before I start I would like to let everyone know, yes I'm a noob. We all were at one time. I have been very successful up to this point on setting up my own cloud server on Rackspacecloud. I was able to install Centos 6, cPanel/ WHM, Softaculous and some other stuff easily using SSH on my own. That was the first time I had ever done it and everything installed like a charm. I have to admit it was quite easy.

I have also read on here that you can get as many IP addresses as you need for a Rackspace server. That is partially true. You will get 1 dedicated IP with the server. Any additional IP addresses will require a cert. You have to be installing a cert on the server in order to get additional IP addresses. I spent about 45 min with support last night asking for a cert. They require that you send them the CA cert in order to receive the new IP and you only get 1 IP per cert.

Last night when I got my new IP they had to restart the server. After the reboot WHM wanted me to update my license. Using SSH I updated it and was able to log back into WHM. Before the new IP my cPanel, websites and email worked fine.

Now... My problem.
I only have 1 domain name in WHM so I added the dedicated IP to that account because that was the account that I needed the cert for. After I added the IP everything went down. No more WHM or website. I think it may be a DNS setting issue but not sure.

My question:
On Rackspace Cloud under the server there are DNS settings for adding A, CNAME & MX records. There is also a setting in WHM for the exact same thing. Another place you can find this is on the domain registrars settings. Which one do you use? All of them?

I desperately need to get this thing back up and running. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello :)

On Rackspace Cloud under the server there are DNS settings for adding A, CNAME & MX records. There is also a setting in WHM for the exact same thing. Another place you can find this is on the domain registrars settings. Which one do you use? All of them?
This depends on which name servers you have assigned your domain name. If you have assigned them name servers with IP addresses that are added to the cPanel server, you would make those DNS changes on the cPanel server. If it's using the domain registrar name servers, then you would make DNS changes at the domain registrar.

Thank you.
