DNS issues after Transfer

Using the Transfer tool the site was migrated from one server to another. There was no issues with the transfer, however the site would not come online from the new server. This is an issue with the specific site that the developer has caused but to resolve the issues the original location was unsuspended and and the DNS entries manually rolled back to get the site online. The transfer destination account was disabled so that we could review the settings prior to understanding the cause of the failure.

A month later the DNS for that site seems to have refreshed to point to the suspended destination server. Is there something in the transfer tool that could have caused this issue?

Hey there! There isn't anything in the Transfer Tool that would cause the type of behavior you described. If you used the Live Transfer option in the tool (Transfer Tool | cPanel & WHM Documentation) that will proxy the DNS and server request from the Source to the Destination machine, but it is not something that would change or reset after a month.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Thank you for the response.

I had reviewed the information and was trying to find a reason for this behavior and it may have been an oversight in switching the DNS back once the transfer had failed.

Whenever you will do migration from one server to another with the help of any plugin it will disturb your DNS record. I also did the same for my website "mandslawyers" and faced the same issue. After that I did it manually and did not face any issue like this. Every plugin has different type of code so if you want to transfer it through plugin then you need to understand the basic coding of plugin.
