Hello

We have the following situation:

The client wans that the mail server and the FTP and all the services to be kept on our server, but the www (the website) to be on other server. So we modify the A entry with his server IP, but the subdomain mail.domain.com is served by his server, instead of mine. That's not good because on incomming or outgoing mail server in outlook settings we used mail.domain.com

This can be corrected somehow or mail.domain.com it will be no mather what on his server?

Cheers

Ensure the MX record is pointing to mail.domain.com and then change the A record of mail.domain.com to point to the IP of the server with mail for his domain. If mail.domain.com is using a CNAME, simply change it to an A record.

Please open a ticket so we can see the real domain information. At this point, if you cannot provide that information here, we need to be able to check the DNS records. You can open a ticket using my signature or WHM > Support Center > Contact cPanel.

Please provide the ticket number here after opening it.

Thanks!

Verify the domain name is present on /etc/localdomains and not on /etc/remotedomains
