Hi,
We currently have host servers using ESXi with CPanel VPS's running.
At the moment, we have the traditional set up, each VPS runs it's own DNS, nameservers etc.
We are looking at:
CPanel DNS ONLY, Clustering & VMWare ESXi extra functionality for live migrations etc
I understand the DNSONLY set up where servers(VPS's in our case) can be clustered to share DNS zones and sync with the 2 DNS ONLY servers (ns1 and ns2).
If a website is transferred from one VPS to another, the dns updates automatically so we can eliminate the task of asking clients to update their nameservers during server migrations.
However, I'd appreciate some clarification on full VPS migrations.
If we migrate a whole vps to another host, this doesn't use the CPanel transfer functionality, so am I right in thinking all the websites in the VPS will have the wrong ip on the new host?
DNSONLY / Clustering supports transfers of websites between VPS's in it's cluster but does it support moving the whole VPS to a different host?
Appreciate any help/advice you can offer
