    Hello.

    I bought an dedicated server, but I'm not sure if my DNS setup is correct.

    I have a website in another host that is using another DNS etc.

    I've created the DNS and the server name in my dedicated server, but when I try to change the DNS to the new one it doesn't find it.

    That's the result of a nslookup domain.com ns1.domain.com(the one that I've created)

    DNS request timed out.
    timeout was 2 seconds.
    *** It not possible to find the name server to the IP 74.x.x.150:
    Time out
    Server: Unknow
    Address: 74.x.x.150

    DNS request timed out.
    timed out was 2 seconds.

    DNS request timed out.
    timed out was 2 seconds.
    ***The request for Unknow timedout. (Something like that, my PC is in portuguese)

    So, if I try to "ping ns1.domain.com" it "answer" with the right IP address of my host.

    If I try "nslookup ns1.locaweb.com.br" (the old dns that I used and works good)
    SErver: bram.uol.com.br
    Address: 200.221.11.110

    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name = ns1.locaweb.com.br
    Address = 189.120.100.5

    If I try "nslookup ns1.domain.com" it finds as above.
    SErver: bram.uol.com.br
    Address: 200.221.11.110

    Name = ns1.domain.com.br
    Address = 74.x.x.150

    Someone knows what it's happening? I created the DNS more than 24 hours ago.

    Hello :)

    Could you post the actual domain name so we can get a better idea of the DNS configuration? If you feel more comfortable providing this information in a ticket, you can open one via:

    Where are you attempting to change the DNS for this domain name at? If at the registrar, you have to ensure that you have created the name servers at the registrar itself. We have the following document available for information on how to do this at the most common registrars:

    Register Private Name Servers

    Thank you.
