DNS Problem!

    :confused: DNS is failing.

    I get this message:

    Attempting to restart named
    Waiting for named to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished.

    named status


    named has failed, please contact the sysadmin (result was "named is not running"). Sep 4 18:49:14 server named: named shutdown failed Sep 4 18:49:14 server named[22408]: starting BIND 9.2.4rc6 -u named Sep 4 18:49:14 server named[22408]: using 1 CPU Sep 4 18:49:14 server named: named startup succeeded



    What can I do?

    run 2 scripts:

    /scripts/fixnamed
    /scripts/fixndc
    /etc/init.d/named start

    that woulb be OK

    Something that has been bugging me also - when you restart the dns - underneith the normal stuff it lists every single domain...is it possible to stop that?

    Not sure what you are trying to say there? Do you mean in the log files?
