    Did you check the zone file of dark-warriors.net? and also check the entry of dark-warriors.net in the named.conf file.

    The host -av host -av dark-warriors.net didn't shows any valid records on your configuration file.

    Plese check the host command result.

    Hello,

    first you should do the following command

    ps -aux | grep named

    Then you will get a result like that

    named 26288 0.7 2.0 97412 42516 ? S May10 24:17 /usr/sbin/named -u named -c /etc/named.conf

    Then take another console and run the following command
    tail -f /var/log/messages

    Then stop the named service like kill -9 pid
    And start the named by issueing the following command

    /usr/sbin/named -u named -c /etc/named.conf
    [This user and config file may be vary, that depends up on your machine config ]

    And paste the message log here.

    Hello,

    Command out these 3 related lines from /etc/named.conf and restart bind. using the /usr/sbin/named -u named -c /etc/named.conf

    And also check the /etc/resolve.conf file. The name server entry's should be there.

    And also check the tail -f /var/log/messages

    well.. there is nothing related to
    "no IPv6 interfaces found
    listening on IPv4 interface lo, 127.0.0.1#53
    listening on IPv4 interface eth0, 66.111.219.212#53
    command channel listening on 127.0.0.1#953"
    in that config..
    i added the servers ip in the resolve.conf now.. but nothing new

    the named.conf starts with ;

    key "rndc-key" {
    algorithm hmac-md5;
    secret "+15NDdb0sVUaqeQ7U+ZibQ==";
    };

    controls {
    inet 127.0.0.1 allow { localhost; } keys { "rndc-key"; };
    };

    // generated by named-bootconf.pl

    options {
    directory "/var/named";
    /*
    * If there is a firewall between you and nameservers you want
    * to talk to, you might need to uncomment the query-source
    * directive below. Previous versions of BIND always asked
    * questions using port 53, but BIND 8.1 uses an unprivileged
    * port by default.
    */
    // query-source address * port 53;
    };

    //
    // a caching only nameserver config
    //

    Are you using FreeBSD? or something else?

    Your DNS zones are not configured properly. Unless you know about DNS zones and related sys files, otherwise you'll be better off hiring a sys admin to fix it for you.

    using Fedora Core 1.
    It worked fine on the old server, but transfered to a new dedicated one now, and there dns stuff dosent seem to work at all.
    Gonna try to reinstall the entire thing, and install stuff myself, and see what happens then.
