Hi, ok I got a dedicated server a couple of days ago and I am lost in trying to get my domain to point to the server. I have registered 2 nameservers pointing to 2 different ips on for server. Now when I got to dnsreport I get these results and Im not sure where to go from here.

    http://dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=beanwebb.com

Please could someone help me here, I do get this error when trying to restart BIND, I dont know if this could be causeing any problems or not:

rndc: connection to remote host closed This may indicate that the remote server is using an older version of the command protocol, this host is not authorized to connect, or the key is invalid.

    please help!

Yes the "rndc" error can cause bind to not update properly.
The dnsreport.com shows your IPs as non public which may be a separate issue. Have been told that new IPs sometimes take a while to be listed in the ARIN database and show up as non public.
There is a easy fix for the rndc error. Don't have it right at hand but will look for it or you can do a serach.

rndc: connection to remote host closed This may indicate that the remote server is using an older version of the command protocol, this host is not authorized to connect, or the key is invalid.

Want to post the solution for this problem.
If the following doesn't fix it:
    http://www.hostinglife.com/ndc.php
    Then try:
pico /etc/sysconfig/named and comment out the 'ROOTDIR=' (put a # in front)
Once rndc error is resolved dnsreport.com will give SOA record information.
