Hello

I appreciate if anyone can help me or point me to the right direction. I have 3 cpanel servers running dns in a cluster.

The problem that I have is that I have number of domains (~1000) pointing from the domain registry to my dns servers however those domains have been deleted from our cpanel servers due to non payment.

I would like to forward/redirect those query's to a web page saying this domain is no longer hosted on this location or the domain has been deleted for non payment.

I dont want to recreate those deleted domains just to make the forward since the domain owner might change anytime their registry records and I wouldnt know about it until I check.

A partial solution might be to configure the host file /etc/hosts with redirect for all domains that are not pointing to our dns servers but are not hosted with us. This solution would also require for me to keep checking the registry status, dns settings of those domains.

I was wondering if there is any solution of redirecting a domain with valid dns settings in the domain registry pointing to my dns servers but who jas no dns records in cpanel.

I'd do this:
Create a special account which hosts these domains as addon domains all pointing to the same directory whith the desired landing page..
