I have a client with a no-ip.com address (customername.no-ip.com) which points to his ip dynamicly. What I would like to do is set all customerdomain.com to point to the customername.no-ip.com. I know I have to use CNAME. The problem is that I can't set customerdomain.com up with a CNAME record (I can on all the subdomains). It has to be an A-record it seems. Is this true?

This is how I have it setup now:
    ------------------------------------
    customerdomain.com. 14400 IN NS ns1.mydns.com.
    customerdomain.com. 14400 IN NS ns2.mydns.com.
    customerdomain.com. 14400 IN A xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <-- IP of customername.no-ip.com

    localhost.customerdomain.com. 14400 IN A 127.0.0.1

    customerdomain.com. 14400 IN MX 0 customername.no-ip.com.

    mail 14400 IN CNAME customername.no-ip.com.
    www 14400 IN CNAME customername.no-ip.com.
    ftp 14400 IN CNAME customername.no-ip.com.

    customerdomain.com. 14400 IN A xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <-- IP of customername.no-ip.com shoud be:
    customerdomain.com. 14400 IN CNAME customername.no-ip.com.

But that isn't possible. Any advice? The customer says he has the domain setup this way at another host.

You should be able to just use a CNAME on customerdomain.com.

Why do you say it's not possible?

    I get this message:
"There were errors in the new zone which have been highlighted below, please press the back button an try again!"

The CNAME I'm trying to add and the MX record is highlighted.
