Something is wrong with the bind and rndc, this is the error I get all the time:

Stopping named: rndc: connection to remote host closed
This may indicate that the remote server is using an older version of
the command protocol, this host is not authorized to connect,
    or the key is invalid.

Both my sites are down and my admin and myself have worked all day to resolve it...but we can't. I appreciate any help to resolving this issue.

    Regards,
    Tim C.

    Have you tried doing:
    /scripts/fixndc

I've never had to do that but remember hearing about it frequently. I think I've also seen it mentioned that it needs to be run twice.

double check the rndc encryption key

in named.conf and verify it with the one in rndc.conf which can be found in /etc/

if they do match, double check the syntax of the encryption key assign statement

otherwise its time to do a full cpanel update or force re-install rndc and or bind.

    thats my 2cents

From the command line using SSH access to your server.
