    Hello,

when i bought the hosting service from a company i chose the option to tranfer my existing domain name (helleniclboro.com) to be hosted by that company.

I went on the previous hosting company's domain management system and i changed the nameserver to the ones they provided me for the hosting (ns3.ehostdepot.net and ns4.ehostdepot.net).

I then created an sql database with a user in order to install and run the e107 website system. i uploaded all the necessary files (.php etc.) but until now i cannot access my webpage at all except for the Cpanel page.
When i try to load the page www.helleniclboro.com/install.php (or any other similar page) i get the following error page:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.helleniclboro.com/ install.php

    The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for www.helleniclboro.com
    The dnsserver returned:

Server Failure: The name server was unable to process this query.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I forgot to mention that i cannot ftp to my website either, is this due to the same problem?
this is what i get when i try to use ftp:
    Connecting to 216.23.188.189:2082
Connected to 216.23.188.189:2082 in 0.140625 seconds, Waiting for Server Response
    Error reading response from server.
    Connection closed by remote host.

The whois function return that the domain is on back order!??

Please can you tell me if i need to wait more for the transfer of the domain to take place or if there is some other problem that i am not aware of.

    Thanks for your help
    George

Netfirms has always been problematic IMO. Record on your domain says it was updated on Nov 18. You should go scream at them. Of course by the time you get an answer it'll probably work fine. ;)

Nothing to do with cPanel BTW..

Thanks for the quick reply i will be emailing Netfirms

What does it mean it is broken?
I see the error: "The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later" but i don't know what it really means.

    Thanks
    G

Well you never ran the installer for the scripts you wanted to install did you?

If you can go back to where you uploaded those files, remove them and add a blank index.html there instead. That should work ok I guess until the domain resolves proper.

the installer is the install.php page i think. it is like an online site builder only it is in your own dir.

what about the fact i cannot ftp to my dir?

Again, these are your providers problems, not cPanel forums problems.
But try this for the IP to the FTP. 216.23.188.189
Do not set port as you show above you did.

Use this URL to get to your cPanel. http//:216.23.188.189:2082
    or https//:216.23.188.189:2083
