I have setup a domain on my VPS account. I set it up on cloudflare, and when I do a Dns Records lookup from say network-tools.com, one of the entries on there under Authority Records is an A record

    Additional records
    direct-connect.mywebsite.com MY SERVER IP

Where can I change this setting at all where that isn't displayed?

Not sure if this is a domain/dns issue or something I can correct in cpanel dns zones myself, so I was unsure if my question should go here or General Discussion Lounge.

I know where the DNS settings are, what "record" is making this direct-connect. A record show up on a DNS lookup ?

Would it be the mywebsite.com A RECORD IP ADDRESS record or something else?

    and is this removable..

I think what you are talking about is a setting that is added by Cloud Flare. I think that is why you don't see it in cPanel.
