    Hi All,

I have a DNS server that does not run cPanel. I would like to add this server to my cPanel instillation as a Master server so that the cPanel server receives it's domains from it. Is this possible?

I have had a look at DNS Clustering but it seems that this is only useful for cPanel to cPanel server dns syncing.

If more information is needed, please let me know.

    Regards

After a bit of research, I have decided that this is not possible with out manually editing the named.conf file and will probably not allow the system to work well.

I have instead set my other name servers to be slaves for just the domains added to the cPanel setup.

I will write a script so that when my other name servers get notified of a new zone, they will add it to the system automatically and then pull down the zone file, using an xfer.

Actually, you can use DNS Clustering in conjunction with cPanel DNS-Only servers and have the DNS-Only
server receive updates in zones etc. from the cPanel/WHM system(s). The system is designed to automatically synchronize zones between cPanel/WHM and cPanel DNS-Only.

cPanel DNS-Only is a free product.
