    Hello folks,
    I have some issues with DNS that I hope someone can help me with.

    We have a server hosted at the planet, the server is setup as follows. this was done using edit setup in WHM

    host1.superbwebhosting.net
    Nameservers setup as
    ns1.superbwebhosting.net -> 69.93.230.98
    ns2.superbwebhosting.net -> 69.93.230.99
    shared IP is 69.93.230.98

    We have 2 resller accounts on the server, setup the following way. Done through WHM

    ozyhosting.com -> 69.93.230.100
    ns1.ozyhosting.com -> 69.93.230.100
    ns2.ozyhosting.com -> 67.18.80.123

    northtrex.com -> 67.18.80.122
    ns1.northtrex.com -> 67.18.80.120
    ns2.northtrex.com -> 67.18.80.121

    Both the resellers above point to ns1.superbwebhosting.net & ns2.superbwebhosting.net as their parent servers.

    What I want to do is get these nameservers to work as dedicated nameservers..so they stop showing superbwebhosting in DNS reports and such.

    Does this mean getting the planet to setup the following PTR's for each domain? Ill use ozyhosting.com as 1 example
    69.93.230.100 - server1.ozyhosting.com (Main Server IP - an A name server1 has been setup for it)
    69.93.230.100 - ns1.ozyhosting.com
    67.18.80.123 - ns2.ozyhosting.com
    And then changing the namservers at the registrar to point to the domains own name server?

    I tried searching the forums but didnt find a great deal of info on how to go about this.

    Thanks in advance.
    Paul

    Nameserver setup needs to be done correctly as everything, account wise, flows from there. At this point your Server does not seem to be setup correctly.

    http://dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=northtrex.com

    This shows the Domain as using IPs that are not publicly accessable which means, if 67.18.80.120 - 123 have been assigned to you they are not correctly bound to your Server. The report also shows 'northtrex.com' as using dns1.name-services.com for Nameservers and it should be using ns1.northtrex.com & ns2.northtrex.com.

    Contact the Planet for help or maybe hire someone to do the setup for you. Until the IPs are correctly setup on the Server you will continue to have problems. If you'd like to do the work yourself, I suggest you start with:

    host1.superbwebhosting.net uses the Base IP of the Server - 69.93.230.98 perhaps?

    if 69.93.230.98 is the Base IP then also use for ns1.superbwebhosting.net and keep it as a Shared IP
    keep ns2.superbwebhosting.net using 69.93.230.99 and set it up as a Dedicated IP

    have the Planet setup rDNS for 69.93.230.98 as ns1.superbwebhosting.net and 69.93.230.99 as superbwebhosting.net

    As you can see, the above just gets you started and, if not familiar with doing these types of things, can easily be confusing. I'm also not sure why you would use 'superbwebhosting.net' for the Hostname as it is better to use something else -- leaving superbwebhosting.net to be easily ported somewhere else if need be.

    Heya Rob,

    The reason for superbwebhosting is a long and complicated.

    The ip address's that show in the dnsreport where assigned to our server by the planet, I was told to assign each IP in that range to the nic in the server using subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
    I did that in WHM using add new IP Adress.
    I added each IP and subnet like I was told and I dont know why they are not showing as public IP's. Could this be an issue with the planets ip provisioning?

    host1.superbwebhosting.net uses the Base IP of the Server - 69.93.230.98 perhaps? -- Yes it does

    if 69.93.230.98 is the Base IP then also use for ns1.superbwebhosting.net and keep it as a Shared IP -- this is the shared ip accounts are created on

    keep ns2.superbwebhosting.net using 69.93.230.99 and set it up as a Dedicated IP -- I have set this as a reserved IP no accounts to be created on it.

    I will go an update the nameserver with the registrar to point at ns1.northtrex.com and ns2.northtrex.com and see what happens.

    I had also meant to ask where you got the logos on http://northtrex.com/ as I would like to use the Cpanel and rvSkin one -- since I provide both. Are they publicly available?

    For your current problem, in 'root' WHM, if you use:

    IP Functions > Show or Delete Current IP Addresses

    does it show all your IPs that it should?

    Hello again rob.

    all the ips are showing in the WHM.

    69.93.230.98
    67.18.80.120 Remove
    67.18.80.121 Remove
    67.18.80.122 Remove
    67.18.80.123 Remove
    67.18.80.124 Remove
    67.18.80.125 Remove
    67.18.80.126 Remove
    67.18.80.127 Remove
    69.93.230.100 Remove
    69.93.230.101 Remove
    69.93.230.102 Remove
    69.93.230.99 Remove

    the only thing I can think of is they have not been assinged by the planet.
    The funny thing is you can see the website..and its on a dedicated IP address of 67.18.80.122

    The logos where found using google..they have been tweaked a little with photoshop
