When creating accounts on one of our cPanel/WHM servers the DNS Zone Templates I have configured are used, however in addition to the template these records are observed:
10.0.0.36 is the main shared IP.

cpanel 14400 IN A 10.0.0.36
whm 14400 IN A 10.0.0.36
webmail 14400 IN A 10.0.0.36
webdisk 14400 IN A 10.0.0.36

Where do these come from? How can I stop this?

...Still in need of an answer.

These records are nowhere to be found in any of my zone templates. How can I stop them from getting added?

In WHM > Tweak Settings, change this from On to Off:

Proxy subdomain creation [?]

Automatically create cpanel, webmail, webdisk and whm proxy subdomain DNS entries for new accounts. When this is initially enabled it will add appropriate proxy subdomain DNS entries to all existing accounts. (Use /scripts/proxydomains to reconfigure the DNS entries manually)
