My domain already has an ssl certificate. My email is currently not able to be checked through gmail because it's using a self signed certificate for mail.domain.com. Is there any way to use my domain.com SSL cert for my mail? Or do I need two certificates?

You don't have to use mail.domain.com, but you can use domain.com as the mail server address. Then there is no problem with the certificate.
