if you are not sharing the VPS ip, you don't need to get another ip

in that case you don't need another dedicated ip, but if you need ssl for your server hostname. you need another dedicated ip.

If you are going to install SSL on shared IP address, you will have to select user "nobody" while installing SSL. You can not install SSL on other user if you are installing it on shared IP address.

As mentioned in my previous reply, on shared IP address, you can only install SSL as a nobody user. If you want to install as another user, you have to assign dedicated IP address.

What Kailash has described is correct. To install an SSL certificate on a shared IP address, such as if it will be set as a shared SSL certificate for all accounts, it will be necessary to perform the installation via the WHM SSL/TLS menu and enter a username of "nobody" on the install form before submitting.

To install via cPanel, or to install for a specific user and not the user "nobody" it is necessary to use a dedicated IP address, one different from the shared IP address; depending on one's own needs and preferences it may be necessary to provision (setup) a new dedicated IP address via WHM IP Functions (after having ordered the IP address from the upstream data center or hosting service vendor).
