Do I need to create an account in WHM after buying a domain?

Hi,

Pardon me if this is a dumb question but I could not find a conclusive answer.

As my firewall block all ports except 80 and 443, I have to use a proxy subdomain. Both Proxy subdomains and Proxy subdomain creation are enabled. I have also updated the name servers of my purchased domain name to point to my web host. Do I still need to also create an account in WHM with the same name of my purchased domain for proxy subdomain to work?

Hello

Yes, you will need to add the domain name to the server as a new account. The only other option would be to add it as a parked or add-on domain to an existing account. This ensures it's DNS zone is created, and the appropriate entries are added to the Apache configuration file.
