Docs aren't viewable

Hello everyone-

For some reason, when I upload a file with .doc extension, it will show up as being uploaded and everything (the file is 44kb). When I download it from the website, it downloads at 44kb's too. But for some reason, it won't open. No .doc (word document) I upload is showing up. I even tried switching from Pure FTP to ProFTP. Also, I disabled my firewall...

Any ideas?

Are you making sure it's being uploaded and downloaded in binary format.

Hrm.. Same thing is happening for me, trying to open it as a FTP location on FTP. It errors with it cannot open the file, even though when done manually from a FTP client (SmartFTP), it works fine and downloads.

Anyone got any ideas?

By "it wont open" what precisely do you mean? Is the document corrupted that it cannot open in Word? Or is it that the document downloads but doesn't automatically open in your web browser (like a PDF does on Windows)?

For me, it opens when downloaded by FTP manually, but when trying to open it directly from Microsoft Office XP, and 2007 (Via Open), the users authenticate and everything, but downloading of the documents fail and say they cannot be read.
