I guess it's actually a function (not a file), buried somewhere in one of the WHM binaries.

Zend Optimizer allows you to run php scripts that have been Zend Encoded (encrypted). Go to www.zend.com. A simple google search on Zend Optimizer would have answered this question faster than it took to type it here.

Thank you Marty. To Google or not to Google that is the question and I chose not to. When I posted this question it was long ago and I did not think it would have taken this long to get a reply.
