Does CPanel update the kernel when it updates....

Does CPanel update the kernel when it updates everything else?

I am asking because of this

If not, do you see any issues being caused by updating the kernel ourselves?

can a rh 6.2 using 2.2.19 kernel be upgraded to 2.4.12 kernel only ?

i posted the upgrade instructions and questions here http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23879 just missing a few parts and am not sure if it\'s safe to go from 2.2.19 to 2.4.12 on a red hat 6.2 server?

As long as cpanel is installed it has already updated all the rpms to go from 2.2.x to 2.4.x

If not can\'t you make it so it goes automaticly?

There shouldn\'t be a problem .. just make sure you have the latest one since older ones have bugs upgrading kernels.
