can a rh 6.2 using 2.2.19 kernel be upgraded to 2.4.12 kernel only ?

i posted the upgrade instructions and questions here http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23879 just missing a few parts and am not sure if it\'s safe to go from 2.2.19 to 2.4.12 on a red hat 6.2 server?

As long as cpanel is installed it has already updated all the rpms to go from 2.2.x to 2.4.x

thanks :)

[quote:395a7e0b10]Can we use the Redhat update agent (up2date 2.5.4 - 1) ? [/quote:395a7e0b10]

There shouldn\'t be a problem .. just make sure you have the latest one since older ones have bugs upgrading kernels.

Why don\'t I see the latest Kernel?

RedHat only has 2.4.9 packages.
