    Hi guys,

Noticed Telnet can be executed by any users with shell access (which is just me, but still haha). Does WHM/cPanel need it for anything?

I'm going to remove read/execute for the Other group from the binary. Any objections?

Well telnet basically used to check port connectivity so I dont think telnet is required on the server , however if at all for some reason if you need to check port connectivity from your server to another then you may need it.

Ah yep. Thought as much - Thanks

I don't necessarily need to get rid of it, I just want to restrict its usage to root but I was wondering if perhaps WHM/cPanel scripts use it in some way :)

    Hello!

cPanel doesn't require telnet, so you can remove or restrict it without any issues.

    Thanks!
