Have a site that generates a huge log file. Everytime the logs are processed, the server has a brown out (ie pages lag or don't load).

Is there a way to trim these down, while at the same time maintaining an intact version for later download and processing?

    Danke.

The search feature is your friend :)

Do a search for large logs. The result might be more informative and quicker as this has been raised here many times.

    Which log file is huge?

There are a couple of tweaks in WHM/Tweak Settings/Stats and Logs.

And in logrotate.conf you can define the frequency and compression values of a certain log files.
    :)
