One of my webhosts uses CP and another does not.
The one that does not, has a very simple way to accomplish domain mapping which alters the httpd.conf file apparently. I use this because I have multiple domains hosted in my public_html directory and they are all subdirectories of my public_html directory. Consequently, I also wanted my Primary domain to be mapped to a subdirectory of public_html. It just makes things nice and tidy.
The webhost that uses CP told me that there is no way for them to do this on their servers. When I asked them about httpd.conf, they basically reiterated that CP does not work that way and there was nothing they can do.
I think they're taking the easy way out but I'm not sure.
Any thoughts on this?
Michael
