Hello,

I am very new to cPanel, so I am trying to understand the way accounts work. Right now I am trying to add an account that uses my domain http://resellerdomain.com/~client. So my question is, How do I add an account without a having the client purchase a domain?

You can add accounts by giving anyname as the domainname,it need not be registered. But it will not make any sense because the basic intention of creating an account in the webspace is to make the data stored availbale to internet.

I do want the user's data to be available to the internet, but under my own domain.
If the username is "user1", I want the data stored on his public_html to be access to the world by http://myowndomain.com/~user1/

interesting idea

I'm not sure this is possible without a domain.

You can enter a bogus domain as stated above, or just create an addon domain in your account settings.

Create a specific ftp/mail/mysql account for him in your cpanel, and go from there.
