Dovecot question

I know dovecot stores my read email in /home/user/mail/domain/user/cur

The last email in this folder is dated: Jul 17 2012

Yet I have email in my imap account that dates back to 2011. I can verify this on all my imap clients. So where does this older email exist on the server?

Hello

Is this email stored in an email client or can you access it via your webmail applications? Also, are you subscribed to any additional directories that may exist in "/home/user/mail/domain/user"?

I think it is just a timestamp issues. I counted all the emails and they line up correctly. However the timestamps are off on the old ones.
