Search the forums for 2GB file limit. That should help.

Is that 3GB file owned by that client uid:gid? Is you server configured to show files proceeded with . (dot)? You might want to use a conventional FTP client to download the file. Now, what do you mean, 'can I edit'?

downloading a 3gb of file will be too big if your client's connection is not stable. I would suggest that you break the file into few parts and request the user to download the file in parts

thanks all for your help. That file is owned by that client both uid:gid, but when i try to download it, it said "permission denied". I have read some threads about this issue which mention about reedit http.conf to allow download this big file, but i dont know how to edit it. Andy, Im not sure my server configured to show files proceeded with . (dot), so how can I check that?
    can anyone just help me?
-why is that file invisible in user's account?
    - how can I make it downloadable?
    Thank a ton

Did you change the permission on that file? Do the basic permission on this file; script or binary file should be set to 755, text/html/image 644. Does this file have a . (dot), something like .FILE_NAME

You won't see 2 gig files in FTP either. You'll need WinSCP to download it and shell access.
