I develop websites( draft domains) on a different server and then move them to a different server when they are complete. When I delete the draft domain, it breaks the the finished site. Do I have to keep the draft on the server to keep the finished website working, or is there a workaround I could do, so I can create extra space on my server?

    Hello :)

Could you elaborate on how the website breaks? For instance, does it fail to load completely, fail to resolve, or are there specific website errors?

    Thank you.

The websites do not function correctly once the draft is removed. On the draft everything functioned correctly once deleted it did not work the same.

You probably have absolute references to files in your website, eg. img src="http://draft.domain.com/images/image.jpg" When you move this to the production server, the references will still be to the draft server so it will still function and just retrieve the files from the other server, when you remove the site from the draft server, the files are no longer there. You should ensure you reference everything relatively, ie. img src="images/image.jpg"

I had a customer who'd designed a website and it looked ok on his computer but when someone else viewed it, they didn't see any images. He'd designed it on his own computer and the images had img src="file://c:\images\logo.jpg"

    Regards
    Daz
