    I hope someone can answer this, I'm having the same problem. In the past I got this only once a day and that was fine, but now every few minutes...this is crazy.

    Search is your friend. There is a thread in here that already addresses this with some guidance on correcting. Hint: Search for Drive Space, look at thrid result.

    *** how to customize limits ***

    Hello

    another way to fix the problem is the following (*** how to customize limits ***)

    #pico /usr/sbin/chkservd

    using CTRL+w search this "if ($per > 90) {"

    you will find this

    Code:
         if ($per > 90) {
                   $diskbody = $diskbody . "Drive Critical: $dsk ($drv) is ${per}% full\n\n";
                   $disksubject = "Drive Space Critical on $hostname\n";
                } elsif ($per > 80) {

    90 (%) should be for critical warnings
    80 should be for standard warnings

    If you are receiving 1 millions email disk warning like me :p ,
    and you cannot freeup space :rolleyes:, change 90 with
    your current max limit + 5 (i.e)
    and change 80 with your current max limit + 2 (i.e)

    Now save the file and close pico .
    Execute
    #service cpanel restart

    It should work , also if these values should be changed everytime you
    update cpanel .

    Bye

    Possible solution?

    Could it be that the cpanel restart doesn't restart the chkservd? I believe that restart isn't needed, and instead after editing the file, execute:

    service chkservd restart

    This caused my system to stop sending the emails constantly!

    More likely it's because they fixed the issue in a recent release of chkservd ;)

    Hi people.
    This is the current chkservd
    "
    if ($per > 90) {
    $diskbody = $diskbody . "Drive Critical: $dsk ($drv) is ${per}% full\n\n";
    $disksubject = "Drive Space Critical on $hostname\n";
    } elsif ($per > 86) {
    $diskbody = $diskbody . "Drive Warning: $dsk ($drv) is ${per}% full\n\n";
    "
    I still get many many msgs with almost same msg

    "Drive Warning: /hda5 (/var) is 81% full"

    How is this possible ?

    Is there anywhere else where this number "80" is present ?

    Which version of cPanel are you using? Are you running the latest version for your tree?

    The funny thing is that once I change the chkservd and run update it gets easy for a while, but then some time after that it gets really wild and sends over 20 email msgs at once and again I have to go to save the chkservd file...

    Is there a workarround that will not need the update of cpanel since it is critical that this one remain at least for a 10 days period.

    Well, the issue eon't be fixed for you since you're running an old STABLE release. I suggest you upgrade to the latest STABLE and see if the problem is fixed.
