Drive Warning: /dev/sda2 (/tmp) is 85% full

    I searched and read a few threads of people having similar issues but not exactly the same.

    I just started to get this email sent to me every day starting at 80% full.

    Quick background of the system, I had about 10 websites on the server.
    I believe this started happening after I added the 11th website (All Joomla CMS).

    I sshed into the server and checked the /tmp folder and deleted all files with sess_ but when I check the status back in whm, the tmp file still shows 85%.

    Can anyone advise me on how to deal with this or give me some direction?
    Also, what is the worst that can happen if this reaches 100%?

    Hello :)

    You can browse to the /tmp directory via the command line, and use the following commands to determine which files are using the most disk space:

    Code:
    # cd /tmp
    # du -sh * .[a-zA-Z]*
    Could you let us know which files are using the most space at this point?

    To note, if the /tmp directory reaches 100% usage, it's possible services such as MySQL will stop functioning properly.

    Thank you Michael for your help.

    I read the last couple posts in this thread and I realized I was having the same issue

    It was eaccelerator. I moved this folder to my /home, edited php.ini and deleted the original folder in the /tmp and now the file shows 2%.

    I just hope this doesn't have any side effects like performance issues...
