Hi.

We're having some issues regarding this dedicated server. We run alot of small dedis but this one is causing alot of issues.

Our rDNS is perfectly fine.
Our current IP is 65.108.50.140 and rDNS is static.140.50.108.65.clients.your-server.de.

But for some super odd reason I am getting 2 rDNS adresses in our email. (static.114.180.21.65.clients.your-server.de).
This was our last ip. I got a HELO_DYNAMIC_IPADDR error back before we changed ip too.

Here are the tested values for this check:
  • IP: 65.108.50.140
  • HELO: static.114.180.21.65.clients.your-server.de
  • rDNS: static.140.50.108.65.clients.your-server.de

Also this message confuses me alot. The 140 IP is the correct one where the server is hosted. Why is Cpanel asking me to change that PTR to the 114 IP?

Anyone got any clue where this HELO IP might be parsed from or what config i might have missed.
It really should't be anything related to that 114 IP.

Best regards, Jarle

Hey there! Could you edit your post to remove any public IPs or domain names? It's not usually a good idea to share those publicly for security reasons.

The most likely answer is a custom entry in /etc/mailhelo, which could have been caused by a previous custom configuration or a hostname change in the past. Can you check that file to see if that is the case?
