A bunch of my users are getting the following error:

Task 'mail.laihouston.com - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC65) : 'Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 503 Valid RCPT TO <recipient> must precede DATA'

The error message seems to be as if the users are sending their e-mail incorrectly, but so far I have at least 25 users that are getting this message. Their may be more, but that is just this morning

I tried the first line of defense - restarting EXIM/IMAP/POP3 stuff.

    Any ideas?

    Try this
    telnet ipaddress 110
    USER user
    PASSWORD pass

    telnet ipaddress 25

Also check the exim_mainlog and maillog when u try to send mail to the mailbox which is giving this error.

I was able to telnet into 25 and it said:
