Every time we run EA 3 out CPU spikes and it errors out with an out of memory. Here is what I get when I run it from the command line:
    Code:
    root@range1 [~]# /scripts/easyapache
Doing one time sum regen of /opt/alt
Deep recursion on subroutine "Cpanel::CPAN::Digest::MD5::File::_dir" at /var/cpanel/perl/easy/Cpanel/CPAN/Digest/MD5/File.pm line 116.
    Killed

And here is the email from cPanel Monitoring:

    Code:
Out of memory: The process “easyapache.pl” was terminated because the system is low on memory.

In order to avoid a system crash due to low memory, the kernel terminated the process named “easyapache.pl” with the PID “470105”.

Any ideas? I'm not seeing what the cause is.

I tried yum update - no packages marked for update.

I suppose I could try to switch to EA 4... I'm just concerned that the update may fail as EA 3 doesn't seem to want to run.

As an update, I attempted to upgrade from EA3 to EA4 and it failed with an error "cpanel multilib version problems found". I am not able to determine what libs it is having an issue with and YUM update does not throw any error and indicates no updates are needed.

    Hello,

This relates to an issue with the legacy EasyApache 3 system where a broken symlink and/or a named pipe in the '/opt' directory can lead to a failure during the attempt to regenerate a sum report of the files within '/opt'. Internal case EAL-3128 addresses this issue and is scheduled for inclusion with EasyApache version 3.34.7. You can follow the EasyApache 3 change log at:

EasyApache Change Log - EasyApache - cPanel Documentation

In the meantime, the temporary workaround is to run the following command:

    Code:
     touch /var/cpanel/easy/did_optlib_3109_check_2
Then, once the EasyApache build completes, remove that file with the following command:

    Code:
    rm /var/cpanel/easy/did_optlib_3109_check_2
Let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Thank you.
