I'm confused by an apparent contradiction in the documentation. I would assume that if operating system updates are set to "Automatic", then EA4 would also update PHP and its components automatically.

However, EasyApache 4 FAQ - EasyApache 4 - cPanel Documentation says: "To automatically update your installed packages, use a cron job, or select Run System Update in the EasyApache 4 interface". Is this really required??

Meanwhile, PHP Home - EasyApache 4 - cPanel Documentation says: "EasyApache 4 provides the following benefits: Updates to PHP, Apache, and the modules that you select."

    Hiya,

Unless you've disabled RPMUP / system updates in cPanel preferences, this is done automatically via cPanel, via a cron job :) When upcp is ran via cron, that will run 'yum update' during the process.
