easiest way to verify your backups are working?

    What is the easiest way to verify (besides restoring all accounts ;) ) that you have working backups?

    Untar the backup tarballs and see if everything is there.

    Yes, that would be ok if you only have a few tarballs, but it would take too long to do that with hundreds of accounts.

    I was looking for a more or less "automated" way to check all the tarballs if they can be opened without errors for example.

    I think you should mainly just to check to see if the bigger tarballs are working. The smaller ones should work just fine.
