This is very strange, but after editing php and html files for almost two hours this morning, the Edit of any file gives a blank edit page.
Sometimes the edit page border is displayed (with the Editing, Encoding, Re-Open, Use legacy editor, Save Changes, and Close on top).

Tested with Chrome, Opera, and Edge browsers.

This problem is on one Win 7 Pro SP1 PC, everything works as expected on a Win 10 Pro PC using Edge.

I can up/Download files and everything else, just no Edit.

Server OS: Apache Ver. 2.4.46

Any advice appreciated.

Hey there! Just to confirm, you are using the "Edit" feature inside cPanel >> File Manager, correct? If so, you would need to contact your host to see if there is a problem on the server side, but I see your forums account shows you don't have root access to the system, so you would not have access to the cPanel error logs that may provide more details on this behavior.

Can you speak with your host to see if they can look in to this for you?

Thanks cPRex,
I found that I had a DNS issue on this PC, and resolved it. My next attempt to edit files from cPanel was met with a big dialog from my antivirus.

Looks like my shared web server is infected with SNH-gen [Phish] at Hostmonster.com.
See attached screenshot.

As for the error log, tech support pointed me to two logs under Advanced in the CPanel. They had nothing listed relating to today's file edit/view problem.

I'm glad you were able to fix the File Manager issue, but sorry to hear about the virus problem! Your host may have ClamAV installed on the machine and can perform a scan of your files, but you'd have to check with them to see what tools are available for that work.
