Editing /var/cpanel/users/username

Hi,

I want to mass manipulate my users Contact Information Notification options in the /var/cpanel/users/username files with a script, but when I manually edit the file, the change does not show in cpanel for the user.

I'm guessing I need to run something after I have made the edit.

It says at the top of the file:

# cPanel -- If you edit this file directly you must run /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updateuserdomains afterwards to rebuild the system caches.

Running that does not make the edit show in the users Cpanel.

Manually editing the userdata files is not a supported method of making changes to the contact preferences. Instead, you should use the cPanel API 2 function referenced on the following post:
