Elasticsearch heap size configuration?

    One question, i installed elasticsearch in dedicated server with 64Gb RAM. How much "heap Size" put in elasticsearch configuración? It is recommended put 50% of RAM, but I think it's too much.

    I'm going to use it as a search system for a php forum

    Right! I expressed badly.
    But how much do you think is enough to handle the searches of a forum of around 320,000 topics.

    On many support sites, they recommend using 50% of RAM by default. That's why I think it can become excessive.

    You might want to go with default settings and see how things work before changing anything.

    They do have support forums you might like to know about. Surely there are folks there that can help get you going. Searching the site for heap size I came up with many threads:
