email access trough imap doesn't work after changing the username

    i have a strange problem after i change the username of an existing user. i.e. userOld to userNew, but the domain-name is the same.

    so everything works fine, you can access the website and all other services are available. also mail access trough pop works without any problem.

    but badly the mail access trough imap doesn't work! every time if i try to log on, there is an authentication error. it seems like the old "identity" is cached on the server or something like that, because after a few hours (i didn't found the exact time...) the access works without any problems. i tried to restart the imap service (/scripts/restartsrv imap) and also the mailserver (exim), but also this wouldn't work. i just have to wait a few hours, and then it works fine.

    does someone have the same problem or knows a solution?
