when setting up email account on thunderbird, it can automatically set correct port for IMAP and SMTP using STARTTLS, problem is that it sets the mail server using the domain's mail.domain.com subdomain. is there a way to set so thunderbird will set the server's hostname (which i have valid SSL certificate) instead of using mail.domain.com?

also the username for SMTP authentication is not using full email address, only the name part ('user' instead of '[email protected]'

where can i find on how to set the template for auto config?

thank you

Hi,

Can you point out where can i find information on that documentation where i can change the default mail server to use server's hostname instead of mail.userdomain.tld ?

if you meant this settings:

To turn on AutoConfig and AutoDiscover services:

In WHM, navigate to Home >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings >> Domains.
Under Proxy subdomains, select On.
Under Thunderbird and Outlook autodiscover and autoconfig support (enables proxy subdomain and SRV record creation), select On.
Click Save.
i already set it on my server, but the problem is there.. hence i asked here on this forum.

Please open a support ticket if the "Host to publish in the SRV records for Outlook autodiscover support." option in Tweak Settings is not working properly for you. You can open a support ticket via:

Please post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome.

Thank you.
