Why does cpanel create 2 pop email boxes that have the same name on a shared IP account ?

For example, the domain name is 1-alternative-health.com. Cpanel created a main account called alternat and another account called alternat@1-alternative-health.com. Why are there 2 separate accounts?

If I send email to alternat@1-alternative-health.com, which account will the email go to?

Also, if the cpanel password is changed either through cpanel or the whm, does the main email account password also change? If not, how does a main email account password get changed?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi again,

Well, I just answered my own question about the 2nd email address. I'm moving accounts over from Alabanza and evidently that's how that 2nd email box is being created.

In regards to the password, I also figured out that changing the cpanel password does indeed change the main emailbox password.

Thanks for your continued support :)
