email accounts not visible in cPanel after conversion from ensim

    All email accounts that were converted are not showing up in cPanel. When trying to create an email account in cPanel for an IP based site that was converted from ensim 3.X to WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-C8800 Fedora i686 - WHM X v3.1.0, the email accounts do not show up.

    The error states:

    The e-mail account emailaccountname@yourdomain.com with the login Permission denied: /home/totals/etc/yourdomain.com/passwd passwd and password ***** with a quota of 10 Megabytes was successfully created.

    The log from the conversion shows -

    Converting email to cPanel 5+ (if needed)

    Processing name1
    Processing name2
    Processing name3
    Processing name4


    Done

    Reconfiguring email Passwords (if needed)

    cPanel Email Convert v11

    Done

    Fixing mail permissions

    Done

    I went to /home/siteacountowner/mail and the email folders are there for the email accounts copied over.


    CPANEL logs state

    Warning: email::addpop had an error: Permission denied: /home/totals/etc/yourdomain.com/passwd passwd
    Permissions for the home directory of the account in question is accurately owned (not owned by root)


    Restarted POP / IMAP / EXIM
    Repaired mailbox permissions.

    cpanel still shows Email Accounts 0 / unlimited


    WHAT TO TRY NEXT.... open for suggestions

    Fixed the email accounts not showing up after conversion

    Ok - after hours of frustration i have figured this out.

    I was copying an IP based site from one server to another. I instructed the conversion program to assign the new site an IP address. No issues there. The email accounts were getting horxed.

    So.

    I removed the account.
    I converted the account from ensim to cpanel - namebased.
    Conversion successful.
    Emails converted.

    changed the site to IP based.
    Site is up and running as it should be.
